  Colorado Kannada Koota is organizing Deepavali and Karnataka Rajyotsava Celebration on Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.


Here are the tentative plans for the function:

* Event: Deepavali and Karnataka Rajyotsava Celebration
* Day/Date: Saturday, November 13, 2010
* Time: 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m
* Cost: TBD (To cover the cost of Venue & Food)
* Food: Catered Food
* Venue: TBD



Ideas for Cultural program items: (some new ideas along with past ideas):



* Vocal items (Bhakthi Geethe, Janapada Geethe, Bhava Geethe, Chitra Geethe)
* Bharatanatyam Dance
* Dresses of India - Fancy dress show by very young kids (suggested ages 3 to 5) – displaying various dresses of India and/or Karnataka.
* Younger Kids dance (suggested ages 5 to 8)
* Comedy Skit by Older kids – mocking the English accent of their Indian parents.
* Older Kids dance (suggested ages 8 to 14)
* Karaoke songs – performed by group
* Play/Performance by kids and/or adults about global warming and benefits of green revolution
* Dance items by Ladies and/or men
* Popular Kannada Movie comedy scene enactment
* Dancing to old melodies from each decade
* Brain teasers/memory games to test the audience
* Drama
* Dance-Drama (like Prabhat Kalavidaru!)
* Stand-up comedy
* Fashion show
